The Power of Persistence: How To Keep Going When Nothing Seems to Be Working

Have you ever felt like no matter how much you push, nothing is moving? You’re putting in the effort, showing up, doing the work—but the results aren’t lining up with what you expected.

If that’s where you are today, I want to remind you of something powerful: Persistence always precedes the promise.

Faith in the Waiting

One of the hardest things to do is keep going when you don’t see progress. The temptation to quit sneaks in. The doubts whisper, “Maybe this isn’t for me.” But let me ask you—what if your breakthrough is just on the other side of your persistence?

Galatians 6:9 gives us the key:

"Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up."

The proper time isn’t always our time. That’s where faith comes in. Faith isn’t just believing for the result—it’s staying the course even when the result is unseen.

The Enemy’s Strategy: Discouragement

The number one tactic the enemy uses against you? Discouragement.

• He wants you to believe it’s not working.

• He wants you to feel like you’re wasting your time.

• He wants you to think it’s easier for everyone else.

  
  

But let’s expose the lie right now: If you are walking in obedience, doing the work, and staying faithful, then God is moving—even if you can’t see it yet.

What If You Quit Too Soon?

Imagine a farmer planting a field of crops. For weeks, nothing happens. The soil looks the same, the land looks barren. But beneath the surface, roots are forming, growth is happening, the harvest is coming.

What if the farmer walks away, thinking it didn’t work? He would miss the harvest that was already in motion.

You are planting seeds right now that will produce a harvest. But you cannot quit before the breakthrough comes.

Three Things to Do When You Feel Like Giving Up

When frustration sets in, do this instead of quitting:

1. Go back to your WHY.

   • Why did you start this in the first place? What did God place on your heart? Reconnect to that original vision.

   • Stop saying, "It’s not working." Instead, declare:

     • “Everything I put my hands to prospers.” (Psalm 1:3)

     • “God is working behind the scenes on my behalf.” (Romans 8:28)

       
       

3. Take the next step—no matter how small.

   • Breakthroughs don’t come from quitting. They come from continuing.

     
     

God is Watching Your Faithfulness

Luke 16:10 tells us:

"Whoever is faithful with little will also be faithful with much."

God is watching how you handle this season of small beginnings. He’s watching your persistence. If you stay faithful here, He will open doors, release provision, and bring the right opportunities at the right time.

Today’s Challenge: Keep Going

I know it’s hard. I know it feels like the needle isn’t moving. But trust me: God is working even when you don’t see it.

Hold the vision. Stay the course. Your harvest is coming.
